Reducing Our Carbon Footprint ๐ŸŒฟ

Happy Pessimist Clothing Co is committed to sustainable shopping and reducing our carbon footprint.ย
ย
In recent times, there has been a dramatic shift towards sustainable shopping. In a recent survey, 57% of consumers said they were willing to change their purchasing habits to help reduce their environmental impact.
ย
It's no secret that e-commerce has an impact on the environment. The amount of single-use packaging that ends up in landfill and our oceans is appalling.ย ย

So, what are we doing about it?ย

Carbon Offsets

Thereโ€™s only one thing weโ€™re more passionate about than Happy Pessimist Clothing Coโ€ฆ the planet! This is why weโ€™re making an effort to use sustainable practices in every part of our business.ย Weโ€™ve teamed up with CarbonClick, a New Zealand company making it easy for people and businesses to help fight climate change.

CarbonClick looks like a green button at checkout. When you click it, a small contribution is added to your basket which purchases carbon offsets. These offsets reduce the environmental impact of the carbon emissions related to the purchase. CarbonClick's offsets fund forest restoration, tree planting, and renewable energy projects around the world. Weโ€™re proud to be part of the fight against climate change.

Weโ€™ll be making our own contributions, and changing our practices to reduce our carbon footprint. We hope youโ€™ll join us in creating a sustainable future, by choosing to CarbonClick with your purchase.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

We ship all your ordersย in Better Packaging Co's home compostable mailing bags. They are made out of plant based material (corn to be exact), and will biodegrade in 3-6 months in your home compost.ย
ย
The Better Packaging Co.ย believeย that as a society we have to make a fundamental shift in the way we value resources and move from a โ€˜linear economyโ€™ (make, use, dispose) to a โ€˜circularโ€™ one. In a Circular Economy, resources are kept in use for as long as possible, the maximum value is extracted from them whilst in use, and at the end of the productโ€™s service life, materials are recovered and regenerated from it.

The Better Packaging Co. design products that come as close to this ideal as possible โ€“ waste products are used as their raw materials, minimal waste (and pollution) is generated in their production and at the end of their useful life they can be recycled or regenerated.
