MattyΒ grew up in Melbourne and startedΒ playing the drums from two years old. He was inspired byΒ his uncle, John Bonham, John Otto, andΒ of courseΒ the one and only Travis Barker.

Matty playedΒ in various jazz school bands and punk rock bands all through school until finally being able to hit the pubs and venues from 16 until his early 20s.

He almostΒ gaveΒ up music all together to start focusing solely on starting his family and career.Β When Matty lost his dad, it sunk inΒ that when you lose something you may never get it back.Β Matty's dad always enjoyedΒ his playing and believedΒ his passion was music, so he picked the sticks up again inΒ his late 20s to start relearning how to play.

Since being back on the drums, the power of social media has leadΒ Matty to meet some absolutely amazing, long life friends and learning and growing everyday. From having Blink182 repost one of his drum covers to being endorsed by Big Sound Percussion, Matty shows no sign of slowing down.

Despite being a busy dad, with the power ofΒ his beautiful family behind him, the hunger to play and do more for the music community has only just begun!
